I truly enjoyed this quiet and great hotel. The place was fairly clean. Everything was perfect. The location turned out to be magnificent. I had a wonderful experience at Hotel Mara in Baia Mare. the place was quite clean, and I booked a single room with lovely views of the inner courtyard, which was perfect. Plus, I couldn't have been happier with the magnificent location of the hotel.

Food was outstanding and I have nothing but good memories from this trip. Came here for 2 days, the hotel was lovely, it had marvellous location not far from the center of the town, and the mineralogy museum. Guest room with jacuzzi was the best.

A convenient location in the centre of Baia Mare with easy parking. The staff are very helpful and most speak English. My room was large, clean and comfortable with truly excellent air con' Hot and cold buffet breakfast was included which was good but oddly not available on Monday?? But they would make whatever you wanted for you on that day. Also breakfast is available from 6.00 which is very handy for an early start. Multi channel tv in room... Cnn etc for news. I used the internet room to check into my flights and print cards. That was very useful. At around e30 per night, great value. Shops are across the road for any food you need for a day out or beer supply. I was impressed and I recommend it.

Probably the best hotel in town since years. We booked the only appartment with a sofa, to be able to arrange a bed for our 7 years old daugther. The appartment is very generous, with many windows on two sides of the flat. It gives a magnificient view over the hills surrounding Baia Mare and the big square in front of the hotel. The rooms are quiet, despite events in the restaurant on the ground floor. The reception staff is great!!! - they very friendly, competent and helpful. The best of it: they even went out to a shop and bought for us an anti-mosquito device as we left the balcony doors open during evening. We felt like at home and wish that we could have stayed longer. Many thanks!
WiFi didn't work in our room as the router is placed in front of the elevators and the signal is not reaching the appartment. But it works fine if you're in the lobby or near the router. Unfortunately, the reception couldn't offer us the rates we found on Booked.net - which I cannot understand. Breakfast staff is friendly and helpful, but it comes often that you have to ask for various things (juice, yoghurt, etc) - they don't waste food, but provide based on the no of clients. Pitty that you cannot eat out on the terrace. Also some guests smoke during breakfast which is unpleasant. All in all, not much to complain about - rather hints for improvement :-)

The breakfast was OK. The fill up of the plates was very slow, although there was not many guests around.

Excellent value and a good location in the centre of town. English-speaking staff and very helpful. When we arrived we were given a twin room but immediately transferred to a double when we asked. The bathroom was clean and comfortable.
The double bed was well worn and in need of replacement, although we had no complaints about its cleanliness. Duvet and pillows were cheap and synthetic. The shower in the bathroom was prone to suddenly get very hot, almost to the point of scalding

The hotel is in the center of the city, there is a good parking lot reserved for the hotel customers, free WiFi.
We went to the restaurant and we waited a long time to be asked about what we want and a lot of time to be served. In the other restaurant of the hotel there was a wedding, but the other guests shouldn't be neglectet.
